THE MAIN FUNDAMENTALS OF BRANDING
You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you. I am the Lord.
Leviticus 19:28
‘Hey! Don’t do evil, be good so that others will be good to you’ says my father to his stubborn son. These were the words my dad kept banging in my head when I was younger. I always thought that those words were just said to make me feel guilty when I got into a fight or I did something bad to someone. I understood those words as I grew older.
My dad wanted his son to be a man of good reputation because when people perceive that you are good, they tend to do good to you. Just like the words, ‘you reap what you sow’.
The Old Testament describes God as someone who was a rule giver. The first books of the Old Testament, were many rules. I never understood why, some were very harsh rules. But when you look at it from a different angle, there was not much difference between my dad and God. If you look at the kind of rules, there is a very big difference between them but when you look at what they were trying to achieve then you would see the similarities.
My father was concerned about my personality and God wanted his people to have a certain personality and reputation so that they can be different from other human beings on earth.
Why was that important?
To be irreplaceable, one must be different

My father just like God needed to set his people apart because he needed them to be seen as unique but for one to be unique setting rules and principles is very essential.

Branding is the uniqueness of a company; it is what sets you apart. Branding to a company is what reputation is to an individual.
Branding is very important for your business. If you want to brand your company, then you must set some rules and have principles relating to the uniqueness that you want to create. It might hurt but it is what is going to make you unique in the market.
Uniqueness in the market is what makes it easy for people to identify your products or services. But uniqueness comes at a cost. Those costs are the rules and principles that you have to apply.
For you to achieve your branding goal, you must have someone who understands the company’s uniqueness and know what rules and principles must be in place to achieve those goals.
This also goes to our daily lives, if you want to achieve greatness, you must set rules and have principles that you live by. Your business and you are no different.
